Beşiktaş, one of Türkiye’s most prominent Süper Lig clubs, is intensifying its transfer campaign ahead of the new season. Club President Serdal Adalı has reportedly instructed management to pursue an ambitious recruitment strategy, targeting multiple high-caliber players to assemble a squad capable of making a strong statement both domestically and in European competition.

Primary Target Yann Gboho

According to French sports outlet L’Équipe, Beşiktaş has submitted an official €6 million offer for 24-year-old winger Yann Gboho, currently playing for Toulouse. The Ivorian talent joined the French side in January 2024 from Belgian club Cercle Brugge for €2.5 million and quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad.

Over the past season and a half, Gboho has featured in 52 official matches, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists. His pace, dribbling, and creativity on the flanks have attracted attention from several European clubs, including Lyon and Lille. Beşiktaş, however, is determined to accelerate negotiations to avoid losing him to competing offers.

Jonathan Rowe Also on the Radar

Beşiktaş is also making a push for 22-year-old English winger Jonathan Rowe, who currently plays for Marseille. French sports publication Foot Mercato reports that the Black Eagles have initiated official talks for Rowe’s transfer.

However, the deal may not be straightforward—French Ligue 1 club Rennes is also in the race to sign the promising attacker. Rowe made 30 appearances for Marseille last season, contributing three goals and four assists. His next destination will likely depend on personal preference, but Beşiktaş management is maintaining parallel negotiations for both Rowe and Gboho, aiming to strengthen both wings simultaneously.

Defensive Reinforcement: Rav van den Berg

In addition to offensive signings, Beşiktaş is looking to solidify its backline. The club has identified 21-year-old Dutch center-back Rav van den Berg from Championship side Middlesbrough as a prime candidate. Signed from PEC Zwolle in 2023, Van den Berg quickly caught attention with his aerial dominance, strong physical presence, and ability to build play from the back.

Seen as a potential long-term defensive pillar, Van den Berg aligns with Beşiktaş’s strategy to blend youthful potential with immediate performance impact. His signing would also offer versatility in both domestic and European competitions.

Striker Option: Kelechi Iheanacho

Having recently bolstered the midfield with the addition of Wilfred Ndidi, Beşiktaş has now set its sights on strengthening the forward line. Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, currently contracted to Sevilla, is among the top options.

Iheanacho spent the second half of last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he scored four goals and registered two assists in 26 appearances. Despite his experience, his spell in Spain has not delivered the expected impact, leading Sevilla to consider permanent offers.

According to Nigerian media, Sevilla has set a €3 million price tag for the 28-year-old forward. Beşiktaş views him as an appealing candidate due to his experience, adaptability across attacking roles, and proven scoring ability.

Aggressive Transfer Strategy to Rebuild the Squad

This summer’s transfer push signals Beşiktaş’s intent to re-establish itself as a dominant force in the Süper Lig and make a deeper run in European competitions. The simultaneous pursuit of multiple targets suggests a strategy aimed at completing deals quickly to ensure the squad is fully integrated before the season begins.

If Beşiktaş succeeds in securing even a portion of these transfer targets—Gboho, Rowe, Van den Berg, and Iheanacho—it would significantly elevate the team’s depth, versatility, and overall quality. Such a lineup could provide the blend of creativity, defensive solidity, and attacking firepower necessary to challenge for the league title and restore the club’s competitive edge on the continental stage.
