Madrigal Brings a Fresh Breeze to the Stage

Known as one of Türkiye’s most original and influential music groups, Madrigal set the tone for the night with a vibrant setlist blending fresh tracks and fan favorites. The band, consisting of Anıl Erdem Cevizci, Ceyhun Kaan Karakaş, Salim Kaan Alıcı, Sanlı Akgün, and Burak Emir Kamacı, recently released their new album Sana Ait, which they showcased alongside hits like Seni Dert Etmeler and Dip.

The crowd sang every word in unison, creating an intimate yet high-energy atmosphere. Madrigal’s performance transported fans into a dreamlike musical journey, proving once again why they are celebrated for both their artistic depth and crowd connection. Throughout the show, the band’s members enjoyed themselves on stage, interacting warmly with fans while keeping the energy high from start to finish.

mor ve ötesi Rocks the Night

If Madrigal brought a breeze, mor ve ötesi unleashed a full-on storm. The veteran rock outfit — Harun Tekin, Kerem Özyeğen, Burak Güven, and Kerem Kabadayı — lit up the stage with a powerful set spanning their career. From Melekler Ölmez to Araf, from Küçük Sevgilim to Sevda Çiçeği, and from Cambaz to Oyunbozan, each song was met with roaring applause and enthusiastic sing-alongs.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came when Arem & Arman’s remix of Bir Derdim Var played as a 40-member dance troupe, choreographed by renowned artist Beyhan Murphy, took the stage. The fusion of live rock music with a large-scale choreographed performance created a visually stunning and emotionally charged scene.

The audience’s energy never dipped, with extended applause after every track. When mor ve ötesi returned for an encore, they chose to close the night with Bir Derdim Var, a song that resonated deeply with fans. The band reciprocated the long applause by clapping back at the crowd, further strengthening the bond between artist and audience.

A Festival Packed with More to Come

The Istanbul Festival’s calendar is far from over. On August 10, Buray and Gülşen will take the stage. On August 12, in celebration of MÜYORBİR’s 25th anniversary, a star-studded lineup featuring Cem Adrian, Gökhan Türkmen, Hande Yener, Kubat, Melek Mosso, and Nükhet Duru will deliver a night titled Rüya Gibi Bir Gece.

The festivities will continue on August 13 with performances by Motive and Mela Bedel, followed by Sertab Erener. On August 14, Simge Sağın and Mabel Matiz will light up the stage, while August 15 will bring rap fans Ati242 and Sagopa Kajmer. August 16 features Semicenk and Yıldız Tilbe, and the festival will wrap up on August 17 with a vibrant finale featuring Ebo Show, Poizi, Çakal, and Blok3.

More Than Just Music

True to its “lifestyle festival” identity, the Istanbul Festival offers far more than live performances. This year’s program includes a range of sports and entertainment activities, such as FIBA-standard 3×3 basketball and esports tournaments, RopeLand challenges, a vertical wind tunnel experience, and a full-scale amusement park.

Brand experience zones, interactive installations, and day-long entertainment make the event a multi-dimensional celebration of music, sports, and urban culture. With its combination of big-name artists, engaging activities, and inclusive atmosphere, the Istanbul Festival continues to solidify its place as one of Türkiye’s most anticipated summer events.
