Türkiye’s strategic ambition to establish itself as a regional epicenter of stability and technological advancement took another step forward as Yozgat witnessed a major wave of investments and infrastructure developments. Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanı Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced a comprehensive series of new projects, support programs, and policy reforms during his speech at the Development Agency and Regional Development Administration’s Collective Opening and Signature Ceremony held in Yozgat.
Kacır emphasized Türkiye’s transformation under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership over the past 23 years, highlighting that the country has become an indispensable link in global supply chains and a technology and production powerhouse.

Türkiye Positioned as a Pillar of Regional Stability
Kacır described Türkiye as an island of stability and trust in a geopolitically turbulent region:
“In today’s reshaped global landscape, Türkiye is not just a neighbor but a leading force — a safe and stable hub surrounded by a fire circle. Our nation has become a vital segment of global supply chains and a thriving hub for innovation and manufacturing.”
The Minister cited significant breakthroughs in defense, space technology, automotive industries, and renewable energy as symbols of Türkiye’s self-reliant innovation capacity. He stated that these achievements are the result of the cumulative impact of strategic planning and developmental efforts across all 81 provinces.
Empowering Yozgat Through Investment and Infrastructure
Addressing the local crowd, Kacır outlined the extensive efforts made to integrate Yozgat into Türkiye’s national development framework. He noted that three new organized industrial zones (OIZs) were established in the city, increasing the industrial zone area from 150 to 440 hectares.
Critical infrastructure enhancements, including road development, wastewater management, and rainwater systems within the Yozgat OIZ, were completed this year. In addition, SMEs in the city received over 1.2 billion lira in funding through KOSGEB (Türkiye’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization). The government’s investment incentive program enabled 51 billion lira worth of investments and facilitated the creation of more than 11,000 jobs in the region.
Enhanced Financing Tools and Tax Benefits for Investors
Under the newly implemented national incentive system, Kacır announced an expansion of financial support tools to encourage local enterprise. Notable incentives include:
SGK Employer Premium Support: Half of the employer’s social security contributions will be covered by the government for eight years (or 12 years in OIZs).
Credit Support: Financing assistance for Yozgat-based projects has been raised to 24 million lira.
Interest and Tax Benefits: Investors will benefit from up to 10.75 points of interest/profit share support and a 30% contribution rate toward investment tax reductions.
VAT Exemption and Customs Duty Relief: On investment machinery and equipment.
Target Sectors Identified for Future Growth in Yozgat
Highlighting the new Local Development Initiative Incentive Program, Kacır revealed the four key sectors selected for priority support in Yozgat:
Integrated livestock and meat processing
Packaged ready-made food production
Value-added food products from legumes
Agricultural machinery manufacturing
Each of these investment areas will be eligible for up to 240 million lira in funding. The selection of these sectors was based on extensive field research by the Development Agency’s Investment Support Offices, ensuring alignment with local strengths and needs.
Ongoing and New Projects to Transform Yozgat’s Economic Landscape
Kacır also reported on 169 ongoing projects that received 597 million lira in funding through the Middle Anatolia Development Agency. Additionally, 226 projects received 1.1 billion lira through the KOP Regional Development Administration, covering diverse areas such as local governance, agriculture, education, and tourism.
Among the newly launched initiatives are:
Çekerek Socio-Economic Development Project: A multi-disciplinary production center focusing on medical aromatic herbs, beekeeping, woodworking, and packaged grains.
Kazankaya Canyon Tourism Route Project (Aydıncık): Aimed at eco-tourism, this initiative includes new walking trails, bridges, and camping facilities.
Geothermal and Agricultural Innovations Take Center Stage
Yozgat’s rich geothermal resources are also being strategically utilized. Kacır unveiled the Yerköy Geothermal Well Building and Automation System Project, which will deliver sustainable geothermal energy to a 500-decare area designated for greenhouse agriculture.
Moreover, the newly completed Yerköy/Saray Pressurized Irrigation Facility now provides modern irrigation to 275 hectares of farmland. Additional irrigation projects for Çandır, Kozan, and Şefaatli will extend this benefit further, helping secure the region’s agricultural water supply.

Rural Tourism Project to Spotlight Yozgat’s Natural Beauty
Kacır introduced the Akdağmadeni Rural Tourism Project, which will bring eco-conscious tourism infrastructure to the region. Glamping facilities, caravan areas, sports zones, and event spaces will be developed to attract domestic and international tourists — all designed with sustainability and local identity in mind.
These efforts are aligned with the National Strategy for Regional Development, which tailors growth models for each province. For Yozgat, the prioritized sectors include woodworking, industrial hemp, mineral resources, and geothermal greenhouse agriculture. Additionally, branding and health tourism initiatives will be developed to promote the city’s natural geothermal wealth.
Building the Future: Education and Technology for the Next Generation
To support the next generation of innovators, Kacır mentioned that a Deneyap Technology Workshop is now active in Yozgat, offering middle and high school students access to cutting-edge training under the “Future Technology Stars” program.
Further support will come through the National Technology Workshop, soon to be established at Bozok University, which will help students prepare for national and international science competitions.
A Vision for Inclusive, Localized Growth
Minister Kacır closed his speech with a vision for the future:
“Yozgat’s transformation reflects the values of Türkiye Yüzyılı — inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-driven development. We are committed to activating every ounce of this city’s potential and equipping its people with the tools to succeed in tomorrow’s economy.”
With its strategic geographic location, rich natural resources, and active public-private collaboration, Yozgat stands poised to become a regional role model for comprehensive development in Türkiye.
