In a major step forward in its digital transformation journey, ING Turkey has announced a significant appointment in its leadership team. Çiğdem İltemir Carino, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology and digital banking, has been appointed as the Deputy General Manager of Technology (CIO) and an Executive Board Member. The appointment, which follows the completion of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) processes, will take effect on April 17, 2025.

Her career began in 1996 at Akbank, where she led various transformation projects in technology teams.
She played a crucial role in the establishment of the Design and Innovation Centers during Akbank’s Next-Generation Digital Banking transformation, contributing to significant improvements in customer satisfaction, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Additionally, Carino held various leadership positions, both domestically and internationally, in the field of technology and digital transformation. In 2019, she became the Group Digital Office Head at the National Bank of Kuwait, further cementing her position as a leading figure in the banking sector’s technological evolution.
