Togg T10X’s Price Surge in the Second-Hand Market: What’s Driving the Change?

Despite no price increase for the Togg T10X, changes in the vehicle’s equipment options have caused a significant spike in the second-hand market. Some sellers, capitalizing on the ÖTV (Special Consumption Tax) shift, have listed their vehicles for up to 2.5 million TL. Here’s a closer look at the factors driving this unexpected price surge.

According to a report from www.otomobilhaber.com, the Togg T10X, Turkey’s first domestically produced electric vehicle, has maintained its factory price for months. However, recent updates to its equipment packages have created a ripple effect in the second-hand market, with prices soaring unexpectedly.

Equipment Changes Lead to a Shift in ÖTV Tax Bracket

As of April 2025 production, the “V2 RWD Long Range” version of the T10X saw new options added to its configuration, leading to a shift in its ÖTV tax bracket from 10% to 40%. This alteration is a direct result of added features, such as a 50,000 TL sound system, 50,000 TL panoramic sunroof, and a 20,000 TL smart support package, all of which increased the vehicle’s taxable value. As a result, the T10X’s price escalated to 2.5 million TL in the second-hand market.

Price Inflation in the Used Car Market

Some opportunistic sellers, seeing this change as a golden opportunity, have listed their well-equipped T10X models on used car platforms at prices ranging from 2.3 million TL to 2.5 million TL. This sudden price hike has sparked a trend among other sellers, further pushing the price up. Interestingly, the brand-new versions of the T10X, despite these shifts, are still available at 1,745,000 TL for the base model and long-range versions, presenting a stark contrast to second-hand listings.

No Price Increase, but Perception of Inflated Costs

While Togg maintains that the factory price of the T10X remains unchanged, industry experts highlight that the inflated prices seen in the second-hand market are primarily driven by consumer perception. The sudden spike in the used car listings is seen as “price manipulation” that is creating a misleading market dynamic. Experts urge potential buyers to avoid falling for these inflated prices and instead focus on the vehicle’s official sales channels, where updated prices can be found.

Togg’s Zero-Interest Campaign Continues in April

Togg is continuing its zero-interest financing campaign in April, offering a flexible range of options for prospective buyers. Through this campaign, individual customers can avail of 12 to 48-month repayment plans, with the opportunity to borrow up to 500,000 TL at zero interest for a 12-month term.

For amounts up to 1 million TL, the repayment period extends to 48 months, while corporate customers can apply for loans up to 1.5 million TL, also with a 48-month term.

Updated Optional Equipment Prices

In addition to the changes in the ÖTV bracket, Togg has also updated the prices for some optional equipment. The AC charging capacity is now priced at 30,000 TL, while the panoramic sunroof and sound system are each offered at 50,000 TL. However, customers who ordered their T10X between March 1-10 will not be affected by these updates.

Other modifications include the addition of adaptive cruise control as a standard feature across T10X models. Additionally, some advanced driving assistance systems have temporarily been disabled but will be reactivated with a 2025 update.

The recent surge in second-hand prices for the T10X highlights a common trend in the market where limited supply and shifting tax regulations can cause a spike in consumer demand. For potential buyers, it’s crucial to navigate the landscape with a careful eye on official pricing to avoid falling victim to opportunistic pricing strategies. It will be interesting to see how Togg responds to these dynamics in the coming months as the Turkish electric vehicle market continues to mature.
