For the first time in its history, the Hot Wheels™ Legends Tour—one of the world’s most iconic automotive events—made a stop in Türkiye, drawing over 30,000 visitors to Istanbul Park on August 23–24. Featuring custom-built cars, drift shows, and legendary die-cast dreams, the event celebrated not just engineering and design, but the creative soul of car culture in Türkiye.
As a result of public votes and jury selection, the event crowned Oğuzcan Pelit and his unique custom car “Sanayi Güzeli” as the winner. His project, a 1990 Tofaş Şahin fused with cyberpunk aesthetics, will now represent Türkiye in the EMEA regional finals, bringing the country one step closer to seeing a locally inspired car transformed into a 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast model.

From Istanbul to the World: Türkiye Enters the Global Arena
Hot Wheels Legends Tour, held across 16 countries in 2025, is a global search for the next car to be immortalized in miniature form. For Türkiye, this was more than a debut—it was a historic entry onto the world stage, marking the first time a Turkish-built car will compete internationally to become an official Hot Wheels model.
The two-day event created an electrifying atmosphere with:
A full-scale Hot Wheels Bone Shaker on display
Live DJ performances
Professional drift demonstrations
Open spaces for vehicle showcases and interactive displays
A chance to meet Hot Wheels designers and collectors
With 259 unique builds submitted and 15 finalists selected for the live showdown, the event proved that Türkiye has not only embraced the Hot Wheels spirit but also redefined it in its own creative voice.
‘Sanayi Güzeli’: A Cyberpunk Tribute to Turkish Motoring
The winning car, “Sanayi Güzeli”, was built by Oğuzcan Pelit, who captivated the audience and jury with a futuristic reimagination of a classic Turkish model. Featuring cyberpunk design elements on a Tofaş Şahin, the vehicle was both a nod to nostalgia and a bold leap into sci-fi design.
“I’ve never even owned a car, let alone driven something like this,” said Pelit. “But I’ve always been fascinated by automotive aesthetics, and I’ve been a Hot Wheels fan for as long as I can remember. The idea of seeing my car as a Hot Wheels model pushed me to join. I wanted to merge Türkiye’s iconic Tofaş with a cyberpunk theme—and apparently, it worked.”
His build, which translates to “Beauty of the Workshop”, wasn’t just about looks—it told a story of imagination, identity, and technical creativity.
A Judging Panel of Legends and Experts
The selection process was guided by a prestigious jury panel, including:
Charlie Angulo, Hot Wheels designer
Kerem Kazaz, Hot Wheels brand ambassador
Serhan Acar, Secretary General of TOSFED (Turkish Automobile Sports Federation)
Murat Kaya, TOSFED Sports Director
These experts evaluated each build for creativity, authenticity, and Hot Wheels “garage spirit.” The finalists represented a diverse range of disciplines, from classic restorations to completely reinvented forms.
Doğukan Manço Adds Star Power and Enthusiasm
Another major draw was Doğukan Manço, the musician and automotive enthusiast, who participated with his custom-built Nissan Skyline. Manço expressed admiration for the event’s diversity and reach.
“The turnout was incredible,” he said. “It wasn’t just car guys—it was families, collectors, kids, engineers. That blend made the energy unique. I’m honored that my car was among the 15 finalists. Just being part of it was a win.”

A Celebration of Türkiye’s Modding Scene
The event revealed something that might surprise the world: Türkiye’s car modification scene is not only alive but thriving. With hundreds of submissions reflecting everything from traditional style to futuristic art, the Legends Tour proved that “garage culture” in Türkiye rivals that of any country on the tour circuit.
Custom car culture in Türkiye has historically evolved under the radar—limited by import costs, regulations, and regional accessibility. But this event shattered that image, putting Turkish creativity and craftsmanship on full display.
From EMEA Final to the Global Stage
With “Sanayi Güzeli” now heading to the EMEA finals, Türkiye stands a real chance of being part of Hot Wheels history. Winners from each regional final (EMEA, Latin America, and North America) will compete for the ultimate prize: having their car reproduced globally as a Hot Wheels die-cast model.
That means a car built in a Turkish garage, inspired by local heritage and global imagination, could soon sit on millions of toy shelves around the world, alongside Mustangs, Camaros, and Lamborghinis.
Why It Matters Beyond the Hobby
Hot Wheels is more than a toy brand—it’s a cultural icon that represents freedom, engineering, creativity, and nostalgia. For Türkiye to join the Legends Tour at this level signals that the country’s car community is ready for global attention, and that the passion brewing in its garages and workshops is every bit as powerful as the world’s most famous car cultures.
It also offers new opportunities for young designers, builders, and enthusiasts to see a pathway from idea to international recognition, starting with nothing but tools, talent, and ambition.
A Platform for Innovation and Youth Engagement
Beyond racing or display, the event inspired a new generation of car builders. From children playing with Hot Wheels tracks to university students studying mechanical engineering, the tour created a space where imagination meets mechanical reality.
Workshops, conversations with designers, and first-hand interaction with unique builds allowed attendees to learn, dream, and participate in a global culture of creation.
Türkiye’s Moment in the Hot Wheels Universe
As Türkiye moves forward in the Hot Wheels Legends Tour journey, the spotlight is now firmly fixed on “Sanayi Güzeli.” More than just a car, it symbolizes the creative depth, technical skill, and passion for expression that defines Türkiye’s emerging place in the global automotive story.
Whether or not it wins the global final, its place in history is already secure—as the first Turkish car to carry its country’s name into the Hot Wheels pantheon.
