Şişecam, a leading global player in the glass and chemicals industries, has announced its consolidated financial results for the first half of 2025. Despite challenging macroeconomic conditions and rising costs, the company reported consolidated net sales of 101 billion TL, with international sales accounting for 62 percent of total revenues. Investments reached 14.6 billion TL, while exports totaled 483 million dollars, reaffirming Şişecam’s position as one of Türkiye’s most significant industrial exporters.

Solid Production and Sales Performance
During the first six months of 2025, Şişecam produced 2.8 million tons of glass, 2.2 million tons of soda ash, and 1.9 million tons of industrial raw materials. This consistent output highlights the company’s ability to maintain operational strength even under conditions of global economic slowdown and supply chain challenges.
General Manager Can Yücel emphasized that while global demand stagnation, rising production costs, and tighter monetary policies continue to pressure exporters worldwide, Şişecam remains committed to sustainable growth, profitability, and value creation. The company’s disciplined approach to cost management, efficiency gains, and portfolio optimization has enabled it to maintain resilience in turbulent times.
Building Long-Term Resilience
According to Yücel, Şişecam’s strategies extend beyond short-term responses, aiming instead to strengthen long-term competitiveness. In 2025, the company launched a comprehensive “Efficiency Management Program,” bringing systematic discipline to productivity measures across all operations. This program focuses on cost savings, streamlining processes, and channeling resources toward high value-added products and investments.
Yücel highlighted that price improvements in European markets, combined with efficiency gains in production processes, have already translated into stronger financial performance. These efforts will continue throughout the remainder of the year to ensure healthy cash flow and balance sheet stability.

Strategic Investments in Glass Production
Şişecam is pursuing a series of major investments designed to expand capacity, improve flexibility, and strengthen its competitive edge. In architectural glass, the company has been restructuring its European operations to align capacity with market conditions. In February 2025, it brought forward the cold repair of its flat glass furnace in Northern Italy, achieving both better stock management and cost optimization.
The company’s future capacity expansion is significant. New coating lines in Bulgaria, Türkiye, and Italy are scheduled to come online in 2026, enhancing Şişecam’s ability to supply high value-added architectural glass. Additionally, construction of the Tarsus flat glass facility is underway and expected to launch in early 2026. Complementary investments, including a frosted glass furnace and energy glass processing lines in Tarsus, are set to begin production earlier than expected, by the last quarter of 2025. These projects are strategically aligned with Türkiye’s green transformation agenda, reducing energy glass imports and boosting export potential.
Modernizing and Consolidating Operations
Şişecam is also making structural changes to modernize and streamline its operations. The company has relocated its handcrafted glassware production from Denizli to Kırklareli, where a newly modernized facility will combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary manufacturing techniques. Scheduled to start production in December 2025, this plant will enhance both economic value and cultural heritage.
In automotive glass, Şişecam has consolidated encapsulation production from Germany and Hungary into its Slovakian facility. This step is expected to improve efficiency, simplify production, and strengthen supply chain management. Meanwhile, in packaging glass, the construction of a large-scale facility in Kaposvár, Hungary, with an annual capacity of nearly 396,000 tons, is progressing as planned and will gradually start operations from early 2026.
Expansion in Soda Ash Production
A key pillar of Şişecam’s global strategy is its soda ash business. The company’s U.S. operations in Wyoming continue to operate with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons, offering a low carbon footprint and cost advantages. Looking ahead, Şişecam is advancing its ambitious Pacific Soda investment, planned to reach an annual capacity of 5 million tons. Regulatory approvals are largely complete, and while cost optimization and market conditions are still under evaluation, the project is seen as a critical step in strengthening Şişecam’s global competitiveness.
Sustainable Growth Through Diversification
Şişecam’s performance in the first half of 2025 demonstrates its ability to navigate global headwinds while continuing to invest in future growth. The company’s combination of operational discipline, strategic investments, and international diversification positions it to capture opportunities in both developed and emerging markets.
General Manager Yücel concluded that the company will remain focused on enhancing financial resilience, expanding high value-added production, and aligning with sustainability goals. By integrating traditional strengths with new technologies and markets, Şişecam aims to reinforce its role not only as a leading industrial force in Türkiye but also as a global leader in the glass and chemicals industries.
